County, state, and federal officials continue working to address concerns and respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Township continues to coordinate with county officials as we navigate through these unprecedented times.

Township Facilities and Activity
- Playground equipment and tot-lots at Township parks are now closed. Playground equipment and the tot-lots are high-touch areas and difficult to clean regularly so, out of caution, they have been closed until further notice.

- Playing courts remain open but users should avoid playing larger pick-up games, where they are in close contact with groups of players.

- Park users should use their best judgment and err on the side of caution when using park facilities and public spaces. Please be sure to follow all applicable park rules and regulations and remember to leash your dogs. And follow social distancing guidelines.

- Please limit non-essential requests for services so our staff members can focus on providing essential services. If you need to contact the Township with a non-emergency matter, please do so via email or call 610-277-2400.

- All Township meetings for the remainder of the month have been cancelled.

- All Parks and Recreation programming for the remainder of the month has been cancelled.

March 16, 6 p.m.

This afternoon, Governor Wolf ordered nonessential businesses across Pennsylvania to close at midnight, for the next 14 days. Nonessential businesses include gyms, hair salons, and concert venues. Pharmacies, gas stations, and grocery stores will remain open.

This move comes after Governor Wolf ordered all bars and restaurants in Montgomery, Chester, Bucks, Delaware and Allegheny Counties to end dine-in service for two weeks. However, restaurants are still able to provide take-out services.

As public health officials continue to adapt and modify their approach to address this unprecedented situation, advice to individuals remains the same. Please continue to use good hygiene habits and practice social distancing.

While Whitpain parks, opens spaces, and trails remain open, the Township will close playground equipment and tot-lots at noon tomorrow, March 17, until further notice. Since these are high-touch areas, their closing is prudent given the current situation. The artificial turf fields at Centre Square Park remain closed.

Playing courts remain open but users should avoid playing larger pick-up games, where they are in close contact with groups of players. The Township asks park users to exercise best judgement and err on the side of caution when using park facilities and public spaces. Please be sure to follow all applicable park rules and regulations and remember to leash your dogs.

In keeping with direction from health officials, the Township has postponed all public meetings through the end of the month. All Parks and Recreation programming has also been cancelled until the end of the month.

We continue to ask for your cooperation in limiting non-essential requests for services so our staff members can focus on providing essential services. If you need to contact the Township with a non-emergency matter, please do so via email or call 610-277-2400.

The situation remains fluid, the Township will continue to update residents through the Wire, our website, and on Twitter. Please continue to monitor the Montgomery County coronavirus HUB and the PA Department of Health coronavirus webpage.
