Police Seek Assistance with Burglaries

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 15, 2017, the Blue Bell Garden neighborhood which includes Stony Brook Drive, Valley Road, Blue Rock Lane and Sunset Drive experienced two residential burglaries, two garage break-ins and four thefts from vehicles. Video showed at least two subjects going through the yards of the homes with flashlights.

Please pay particular attention to the style of the coat this individual is wearing. The public's assistance is needed to help identify this person.

Extra patrols will be working the area but your help is also needed. If you live in the area and saw anything suspicious overnight please contact the Detective Division at 610-279-9033.

Residents are reminded to lock your homes and vehicle doors and use your outside lights and alarm systems. Do not leave valuables where they can be seen.

Call 911 immediately if you see or hear anything suspicious.

Wissahickon Park Master Plan Meeting Monday

The Parks and Recreation Department will host a third public meeting this Monday concerning the development of the Wissahickon Park Master Site Plan.

The meeting is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Daniel Dowling American Legion Post at 351 W. Maple St. The meeting will include an in-depth presentation of the draft plan. Comments and questions from attendees will help shape the final plan.

Residents are encouraged to attend to provide feedback and ideas.

Stretch Of Skippack Pike To Experience Lane Restrictions

Wentz Run Trail Opening To Be Celebrated

Residents are invited to join in the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the recently completed Wentz Run Trail project this Monday at 9 a.m.

As part of the ceremony, Henkels & McCoy will be recognized along with PECO, whose generous grant from its Green Region Open Space Grant Program helped make the project possible. After the ribbon cutting, an optional trail walk will be held.

The ceremony will begin near the trail head parking area. Additional trail head parking is available at Henkels & McCoy, 985 Jolly Road.

Proposed 2018 Budget Holds Sewer Rates And Taxes Steady

The Board of Supervisors held its second budget presentation of the year earlier this week. The proposed 2018 budget does not include a tax or sewer rate increase.

"I am pleased to report that tax rates in 2018 will remain steady for the eighth consecutive year," said Township Manager Roman Pronczak. "The base sewer rate of $85 per quarter for residential service will remain unchanged for the eleventh consecutive year."

The Board will receive public comment on the proposed 2018 budget at its regularly scheduled meetings on Wednesday, November 8 and Tuesday, December 5. The Board plans to adopt the budget at the December 5 meeting.
