Fire Department
The Centre Square Fire Company has been an integral part of the Township’s community service since its founding in 1913. Fire, rescue and QRS services are provided out of our newly built, state-of-the-art station located at 1298 Skippack Pike.
The Centre Square Fire Company is a combination department consisting of 3 career professional firefighters, 30 volunteer professional firefighters, 9 Fire Police, and an additional 40 corporate members. New members are always welcome and needed to serve as firefighters, medical responders, fire police, administrative, and ladies auxiliary. If you have any interest in serving your community, feel free to stop by or visit us at Join CSFC (https://centresquarefire.org). We train weekly on Monday evenings starting at 7 pm at our station.
Responsibilities
The Fire Company serves as the primary fire and rescue services for Whitpain. Our Township is approximately 12.8 square miles, and is bounded by North Wales Road to the west, Township Line Road to the south, Butler Pike to the east, and an imaginary line extending Township Line Road to the north.
In addition, we provide fire and rescue services to the PA Turnpike and its patrons for the Northeast Extension (Route 476) from the junction with the main east-west Turnpike in Plymouth Meeting to the Lansdale Interchange as well as providing mutual aid to our neighboring municipalities.
Our Mission Statement
The Centre Square Fire Company has been providing emergency services for the residents and visitors of Whitpain Township for over 110 years. Our combination of volunteer and career personnel are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to answer the call for help.
The purpose of the Fire Company shall be to serve as an emergency response team to protect and save lives and property. This shall not be restricted to fires and shall include rescue from various types of situations. Additionally, we shall provide basic life support emergency medical services. We will also strive to reduce the occurrences of fires through fire prevention and education programs. While the Fire Company will strive to achieve these goals, because our lives are at risk, the life and safety of all Fire Company members and fellow firefighters shall be the first priority during all Fire Company operations.
